AI Terms of Use

These AI Terms of Use ("AI Terms") supplement the Encelade Terms of Service and govern your use of AI-powered features within the Service, including text generation, layout generation, image generation, and any other features that use artificial intelligence or machine learning models ("AI Features").

1. Third-Party AI Providers

The Service uses third-party AI models to power its generation features. Our current providers include:

  • Anthropic: text generation, content structuring, and natural language processing.
  • OpenAI: text generation.
  • Google: text generation and image generation via Gemini models.

We may add or change providers from time to time. We will update this page to reflect any changes. All providers are selected based on their data handling and security practices.

2. How Your Data Is Processed

When you use AI Features, your input (such as text prompts, uploaded documents, or presentation content) is sent to our third-party AI providers solely for the purpose of generating the requested output. Specifically:

  • No model training: your content is not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models — neither ours nor those of our third-party providers. We maintain zero-retention API agreements with our providers where available.
  • Transient processing: your input is processed in real time to generate output and is not stored by our providers beyond what is necessary to complete the request.
  • No cross-user data sharing: your content is never shared with or used to generate output for other users.

3. Ownership of AI Output

Encelade does not claim ownership of content generated by AI Features on your behalf ("AI Output"). Subject to the Terms of Service and these AI Terms, you may use AI Output for any lawful purpose.

However, please be aware of the following:

  • AI Output is not guaranteed to be unique. Other users may receive similar or identical output from the same or similar inputs.
  • We make no representations or warranties regarding intellectual property rights in AI Output. The legal status of AI-generated content varies by jurisdiction and is evolving.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of AI Output complies with applicable laws, including intellectual property, privacy, and content regulations.

4. Restrictions on Use

When using AI Features, you agree that you will not:

  • Use AI Output to develop, train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence, machine learning model, or similar technology without our prior written consent.
  • Represent AI Output as an original, wholly human-generated work where disclosure of AI involvement is required by applicable law or regulation.
  • Use AI Features to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or that violates the rights of any third party.
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or derive the underlying models, algorithms, or training data used by AI Features.
  • Systematically or programmatically use AI Features to generate content at scale beyond the scope of normal use, or use automated means to circumvent usage limits.
  • Include sensitive personal data (such as government-issued identification numbers, financial account numbers, or health information) in prompts or inputs to AI Features.

5. Accuracy and Limitations

AI Features are provided as tools to assist your creative process. They have inherent limitations:

  • AI Output may contain factual inaccuracies, biases, or errors. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI Output before use.
  • AI Output should not be relied upon as professional, legal, medical, financial, or other specialized advice.
  • The quality, relevance, and accuracy of AI Output may vary depending on the input provided and the current capabilities of the underlying models.
  • AI Features may be temporarily unavailable, degraded, or modified as we update our systems or as our providers update theirs.

6. Changes to AI Features and These Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue AI Features at any time. We may also update these AI Terms to reflect changes in our practices, providers, or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email.
